We recommend splitting these daily guidelines into 2 meals. Feeding amounts are guidelines and may vary based on activity, health condition, life stage, temperature. It is important to maintain your pet’s body condition for long-term health. Solid Gold pet foods are complete and balanced; additional foods, treats and chews may alter that balance. Offer fresh water daily. We recommend your dog see the veterinarian annually.
Puppies, Lactating & Gestating Females: Puppies start to nibble on solid food at 3 – 4 weeks. We recommend moistening dry food with warm water or Solid Gold canned food through weaning (6 – 8 weeks). Maintain your puppy’s ideal body condition. Appetite changes are normal with most puppies. Lactating /gestating females may need 2 – 3 times more food than shown in the table.
Transition Instructions
Switching to any new dog food should be a gradual transition over 7 – 10 days. Replace 25% of the current food with Solid Gold for 2 to 3 days, then feed a little more Solid Gold over the next 5 – 7 days until your dog is eating Solid Gold exclusively. This gradual transition will help reduce digestive upsets that may occur due to the change in diet.
Lifesaver for our Pups! –
This food is especially made for superactive dogs. It is very rich and very high in protein but the dogs love it and especially in the winter running through feet of snow, they need all the energy they can get.
Good Digestive Food for dogs –
Our dogs enjoyed eating this food. The ingredient quality was better than we’d expect for the cost of the food. It didn’t appear to cause any digestive issues with our sensitive stomach dog. We would purchase this food again and feel confident feeding it to our picky pups.
