Transition InstructionsWe recommend at least a 7 day transition before you begin feeding the new food exclusively. Start by mixing 75% of the old diet with 25% of the new diet on Day 1 and Day 2. On Day 3 and Day 4, mix 50% of the old diet with 50% of the new diet. On Day 5 and Day 6, mix 25% of the old diet with 75% of the new diet. On the 7th day, you can feed the new food exclusively. This allows your pet’s digestive system to smoothly adapt to the new food.

Switching was not an issue. She seemed very interested in new food, but I still went through trying to introduce gradually, as she is prone to tummy problems. She actually left the old kibble in the bowl, eating around it to get to the Royal Canin. Hoping her black coat is returned, or at least slows down losing color. I like that it has only 10% fat, her current food has 21% fat. She has had one bout with pancreatitis. Schnauzer’s and fat do not mix.

My 6-year-old Mini Schnauzer, Darshan, likes and eats this without hesitation. She had been raised on Orijen all her life but balked every time I fed it to her. Fussy fussy fussy Schnauzers! Glad we found this food and intend to continue feeding this to her. Good job Petstup!!
